Why all the hoopla about creation? Isn't it just for religious nuts? They proved that the earth and people were made by evolutionary process a long time ago, right?
I must inform you that that's not true! Evolution has not been proven by any facts what so ever. It is just another belief system, a religion. Yes, it's true that I have "Christian/Religious" reasons for believing that all was created by God. I am involved in creation ministries that try to stop the lie of evolution. I want man to know that he is a created spirit, not an animal, that he has sin and is in need of a Savior. I admit that up front. I am also a reasonably intelligent person, and a science fan. I have checked into the facts, I've researched, studied, and read hundreds of books from both sides. I too was educated in public schools that taught evolution as science. I believe it's important to inform others that evolution is false both from a spiritual stand point and from an educational one. Is it really worth all the time & energy? It is important to have a correct understanding of orgins, and yes, it is a worthwhile pursuit. Everyone needs a sense of idenity, purpose, and personal goals. This is impossible without a sense of orgin. What a person believes about his/her orgin will condition that person's life-style and effect his/her ultimate destiny.
The solution to man's massive social problems depend upon a correct understanding of orgins. If the evolutionary philosophy is correct, then life is without moral direction and purpose. (survival of the fittest)On the other hand, if we were created by God, our lives have meaning, direction, and purpose. Clearly, the propostion of orgins is the foundation of all other convictions, actions and beliefs. Thus, the question of orgins is a vital issue that can be ignored only at great peril.
Although both evolution & Bibical creationism are inacessible by the scientific method and must be accepted by faith, this is not to say that known scientific facts & observations are useless & to be discarded or ignored. On the contrary, scientific facts should be used to help ascertain which model of orgins is more probable so that the invested faith is intelligent & not blind. In my opinion evolutionist are indeed in a most precarious postion when sittting on the chair of the general theory of evolution, as expressed in the following poem:
"As I was sitting in my chair, I knew it had no bottom there, Nor legs, or back, but I just sat,Ignoring little things like that."
I'd like to state a few idea's and facts here to hopefully get you thinking. To start you on a journey of seeking knowledge. Don't believe in something just because that was what was taught to you. Did you ever once question the "science" of evolution? Did you ever check into the process of their research? Or even follow up on a single claim? I'm not suggesting that you're not intelligent , or even that you're gulliable. In fact I know that you're intelligent and inquisitive or you wouldn't have read this far on my page! Very few people , even the scientist in the field, have really "checked" the logic of all the claims. That's just the nature of man. It is stated by a Ph.D. or some other 'Big Wig' who digs holes in the dirt or works in a lab. It is writen in some book they give in school or shelve in the library. So it must be true , or at least the best facts we have! Sadly the truth is instead a frightening one. Even the evolutionist will tell you that the "facts" they present is a matter of their own bias. Please remember this is just a start, it's up to you to check into it further.
Most thinking people will agree that: 1. A highly ordered universe exists. 2. At least one planet in this complex universe contains an amazing varity of life forms. 3. Man appears to be the most advanced form of life on this planet.
Choices of how the observed phenomena came into being: 1. The universe was created by God. 2. The universe always existed. 3. The universe came into being by itself by purely natural processes (known as evolution) so that no appeal to the supernatural is needed.
Evolution has been acclaimed as being the only process capable of causing the observed phenomena. Evolution is presented in our public school textbooks as a process that: 1. Brought time, space, and matter into existence from nothing. 2. Organized that matter into the galaxies, stars, and at least nine planets around the sun. (This process is often referred to as cosmic evolution.) 3. Created the life that exists on at least one of those planets from nonliving matter (chemical evolution). 4. Caused the living creatures to be capable of and interested in reproducing themselves. 5. Caused that first life form to spontaneously diversify into different forms of living things, such as plants and animals on the earth today (biologicial evolution).
Science deals with things that are Testable, Observable, and Demonstratable. Evolution has none of those qualities. To call evolution "science" is to confuse fairy tales with facts. It's true that evolution has been mixed with science for the last thirty years, but that does not mean it is the same as science. Beer is often advertised during sporting events but the two subjects have no logical connection, and evolution has no more to do with science than beer has to do with sports.Proponents of the theory of evolution would do well to admit that they believe in evolution, but they do not know that it all happened the way they teach. They should call evolution their "faith" or "religion", and stop including it in books of science. While beliefs are certainly fine to have, it is not fair to force on the students in our public school system the teaching of one belief, at taxpayers expense. It is my contention that evolutionism is a religious worldview that is not supported by science , Scripture, popular opinion, or common sense. The exclusive teaching of this dangerous ,philosophy in tax-supported schools, parks, museums, etc., is also a clear violation of the First Amendment .
O.K. Now a few things for you to think about.
The "scientific establishment" has a long history of being dogmatically, emphatically, and zealously wrong! Examples are: they taught that the world was flat. The Bible had already stated the earth was round (Is.40:22). They taught that the earth was grounded/set on something. The Bible had already stated that the earth hung from nothing(Job 26:7).How about the establishment being wrong about geocentric theory, doctrine of humors, phlogistin theory, smooth moon, the moon's dust layer, heavier objects fall faster, life can be spontaneously generated from nonliving matter(disproven by Pasteur, a creationist). I could go on and on. The point is, if man has been sincere but wrong before in his science, he can be wrong about evolution.
Here's a few facts to think about before you go research this subject more, these are pro a young earth, if there is even one or two young earth 'proofs", then how can they say "millions of years" are factual?: 1. The strength of the earth's magnetic field has been measured for well over a century. This provides scientists with exceptionaly good records. In an important recent study, Dr. Thomas G. Barnes has shown the strength of the earth's magnetic field is decaying exponentially at a rate corresponding to a half-life of 1,4000 years. That is to say , 1,4000 years ago the magnetic field of the earth was twice as strong as it is now. If we extrapolate back as far as 10,000 years, we find that the earth would have had a magnetic field as strong as that of a magnetic star! This is, of course, highly improbable, if not impossible. Thus , based on the present decay rate of the earth's magnetic field, 10,000 years appears to be an upper limit for the age of the earth. 2. All naturally occurring families of radioactive elements generate helium as they decay. If such decay took place for billions of years, as alleged by evolutionists, much helium should have found its way into the Earth's atmosphere. The rate of loss of helium from the atmosphere into space is calculable and small. Taking that loss into account, the atmosphere today has only 0.05% of the amount of helium it would have accumulated in five billion years. This means the atmosphere is much younger than the alleged evolutionary age. A study published in the Journal of Geophysical Research shows that helium produced by radioactive decay in deep, hot rocks has not had time to escape. Though the rocks are supposed to be over one billion years old, their large helium retention suggests an age of only thousands of years 3. Comets journey around the sun and are assumed to be the same age as the solar system. Each time a comet orbits the sun, a small part of it mass is "boiled off". Careful studies indicate that the effect of this dissolution process on short-term comets would have totally dissipated them in about 10,000 years. Based on the fact that there still numerous comets orbiting the sun with no source of new comets known to exist, we can deduce that our solar system can not be much older than 10,000 years old.
